Winter visitor

We don't get many birds in our garden but this one was brave enough to have a look around. I'm not sure about the name but I think it's a Fieldfare.

Hard to imagine birds in such cold snowy wintry weather ... love all your photos here but the middle one is my favorite. What an expression!
Hugs and blessings,

Wonderful shots of the cutie, all puffed up like that.

He looks a bit upset at you in the second pic, hahaha. I wonder if he lives in a warm and cosy nest and just visits humans to announce better weather. ;)

Dag Dick.

Groeten, Alie

Hey Dick, your comment made me smile:) It seems snow liked Texel very much:) Do not forget to feed your lovely visitors, put also some olive oil among bits of bread for a lightly eat.

Hi Dick,
nice this Big Belly birds, and yes I agree (with your comment on my blog)I don't mind when the snw would disappear , snow is nice for photography but sun is better. :)

I like this bird. From the front, and if his feathers were more black, he cold pass as a Starling over here. But I don't think it is.

I had a good time today watching and taking pictures of the resident Sharp-shinned hawk learning how to hunt. It is not easy for these young birds to find meals and they miss a few until they get the grab down pat.

He is less than 6 inches wide. And about 10 inches tall not counting the tail. A small bird but a great one.
