Orange glow

Last Sunday and Monday we had a very special sunset. The meteorologists said it is a combination of air pollution and no wind. It was also visible in the UK see Julie's blog "Sunset glow".

Hi Dick..
You are correct, we have had some very strang skies. Julie as caught them just right.

These are great to.. thanks for your visit and comment.. I spoke to a friend of my today and his PC will not load that page also. Maybe it is a glitch.. the page just contains more pictures of different Pill Boxes and a load of info.

Hi Dick - how funny - that light was really peculiar! Lovely clear shots you have.

Thanks for the link - I'll have to have a go at painting one of the shots I got.

Really wonderful with those black silhouettes. My friend on the island of Norderney has taken wonderful sunset photos, too.

Very unique skies. When we had forest fires in Georgia last year our sunsets were beautiful. Sometimes bad is beautiful but not good. lol

These are amazing! It reminds me of the song Beautiful Day by U2 - finding beauty in all things, good and bad. In this case air pollution causing a gorgeous sky.

I especially liked the close-up. The use of the lamp in the dark area made the composition really great and well balanced.

I saw her's and it is unusually beautiful. Now that you have explained what caused it, it seems a bit ominous, too. But it did create gorgeous photos here. I love how you silhouetted rooflines.
