It looks pretty and fresh cut! It's sure a rich color. After it weathers a little it will be even prettier. Now I'm wondering what kind of tree it is.

Look like a lot of targets - you can hardly miss here.

I love almost nothing better than cut wood, Dick. It's the smell of it, the texture, the carefully-sized pieces for the fireplace. You've evoked lots of emotions with this image!

I have a friend who was planning to be on Texel this past weekend but was in a car accident while on her way. So sad. She's okay but she's missing Texel!

I have a few shots like this Dick.. but there mostly of rotton logs, these look better for the freshness of the cuts.

What a great photo and as usual I love the title you gave it.

It amazes me the simple things people take pictures of and how beauty comes out in the picture.

Doesn't the markings in the cut tree tell the age of the tree? Maybe someone will answer this question.

Reminds me of the days when we still had a couple of stoves to use. I don't miss it though.

Very interesting pattern and the colour stands out from the wood

Newly cut trees smell good so more than one sense must have been activated when taking this photo

Too much good the subject in this post.
I like the freshness of subject.
But also generally the idea of photographing.
Very good entire blog.

It checked your e-mail.

Leuke foto Dick, van een eenvoudig onderwerp. Zoiets loop je meestal gewoon voorbij. Mooi.

I think had I seen this I might have said it will never work as a photo and passed it by. I would have been wrong. It works beautifully. Lovely composition.
