Silhouette

De molen van "Het Noorden" gezien in sylhouette. Gebouwd in 1878 voor f. 31.692,50 en gerestaureerd in 1973-74. De molen pompte het water uit deze polder en wordt soms nog gebruikt. Elektrische pompen hebben het werk over genomen.

Tricky lighting with good results. Good to hear that old technology is still in use.

Norway is producing and burning oil and many environmentalists won't hear about modern windmills. Sigh.

A lovely, hazy shot. I keep looking for windmills where I live, but they are few and far between. Most of the ones I've found are prefab affairs that farmers ordered from mail-order catalogues. Of three older one in the area, one lost its sails and the other two are no longer working. None of these re photogenic. Thanks for sharing this one.
