This is what it is a decoration for inside use which you hang above the heating and the hot air makes it twisting. I think Lynette's description is the best. Thank you all for your comments and I hope you enjoyed this game. Who's next to give a card?????????
The first one who gives a good description of what "this" is gets a Christmas card from Texel. People who have been in our house are excluded.
You are wearing blue jeans and that's your knee. It's the sun shining through blinds and drapes onto a table cloth. Now that's a good description! You didn't say it had to be right! Send me my card Dick! lol
"Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what IS that thing?!"
For some reason my bloglines is not letting me know when you update. That is a nice picture of the whirly jig thing. I enjoyed the contest, it was fun and maybe I'll give a Christmas card also. I sent you an email to the address on your profile. Is it a correct address?
Hi Dick, I'm not sure I'd have guessed - but you've given me an idea - maybe it is time I did another contest post - I'm afraid my best camera died yesterday. I'm thinking of getting a Panasonic DMC-FZ18 as replacement.

I have no idea of what it is. It is pretty but I am not a good guesser.
By the way, the picture popped open right off when I returned this time.
Thanks for your visit.
Popped by from Dot's. Lovely picture; is it the inside of a hot air balloon?
It looks like the inside of a cocktail umbrella to me.
A colorful lampshade? The tail of a glass peacock? The inside of a plastic jewelry box? A bunch of drinking straws held before the window?
Ha! I would also have said a Cocktail Umbrell, but R&R have got there first.
I'm still thinking! lol
I'd say it's a window shutter.
I have to go with r&r, cocktail umbrella, but a bit too much roundness under, so I am confused, lol. Great shot btw, Anna :)
Oh go on, I'll say a leaf, with the sun shining thru
It's somebody whipping a colorful skirt around over your head and you're not showing us the best part of the shot.

Maybe it's some sort of Christmas decoration. I think you should give a few hints!
A feather duster?
After more study of this I think it is a hand held fan.
screen or a lampshade? whatever it is - beautiful shades and shapes.
There is something in Ruth's comment (not the balloon)and in Dot's last comment (not Christmas). Maybe this hint gives more ideas.
a picture decoration
I have no idea.... but whatever it is.... it sure made for a nice shot!
A birthday party balloon or decoration? The OUTSIDE of a hot air balloon? A birthday cake?
Is it inside of a paper lantern?
colored popsicle sticks
It's looking upwards, inside one of those whirly things you can hang on your porch or a low tree limb. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.
It looks like a tree, sort of like a colorful palm tree...
A fan...?
OK, Dick, I keep coming back to see if anyone guessed it.
I don't know the dutch word, but perhaps it's the inside of a windsock?
It is a children's birthday party toy thingy.
a spinning top ?
Ah shucks! Congratulations to Lynette!
CONGRATULATIONS LYNETTE! Now why didn't I think of that....LOL
Reminds me of a quote:
